Jue-Flash

Jue-Flash (ๅ†ณยท้—ช) is a 350M-parameter decision model for cybersecurity. It is built on a bidirectional encoder and intended for fast first-pass triage of SOC alerts, WAF and IDS events, EDR process trees, detection-rule matches, CVE and CWE questions, cloud and Kubernetes policy checks, and tool calls made by AI agents. It works the same way as the 2.5B Jue: given a security artefact and a few typed questions, it returns a calibrated probability for every option in a single forward pass, over the Jev /v1/systemone protocol. After warm-up a request takes about 0.1 s on Apple silicon. Both models are described in the technical report (ไธญๆ–‡); the project page is jue1.dev.

The speed comes at a cost. Compared on the same items of 131 external tasks, Jue-Flash scores higher than Jue on only 14. Inputs longer than 4,096 tokens are truncated, questions that need more than one option almost always fail, it rarely concludes that no tool should be called, and it is much weaker in Chinese. It works best as a pre-filter that passes uncertain cases on to Jue or to an analyst.

1. Overview

Questions Choice, Noul (yes/no), Score, each with calibrated probabilities
Base model LiquidAI/LFM2.5-Encoder-350M (10 gated short-convolution and 6 bidirectional attention layers), fine-tuned
Decision head question-conditioned gate over several layers, question-to-state cross-attention, late-interaction (MaxSim) option scoring, ordinal coupler for Score
Context 4,096 tokens; longer states keep their first 70% and last 30%
Interface Jev POST /v1/systemone; server included (serve.py)
Languages English, Chinese (Chinese clearly weaker)
Licence LFM Open License v1.0 for the weights; Apache-2.0 for the code

2. Examples

These are the same fifteen scenarios as on the Jue card. We wrote them for the model cards rather than taking them from a benchmark, and sent them to this model through the included server. All answers are real outputs, wrong ones included. Jue-Flash gets 17 of the 31 questions right, and every question right in 5 of the 15 scenarios; for Jue the figures are 23 and 8. The request files are in examples/.

3. Evaluation

Benchmarks were converted to typed questions, and the highest-probability option was taken as the answer. Each pair of numbers comes from the same items; where Jue was only evaluated on a 750-question sample, both columns use that sample.

Benchmark Jue-Flash Jue
SecAlertBench (alert triage, 750) .637 .433
VulDetectBench task 1 / 2 .566 / .886 .921 / .864
CASTLE vulnerable? / CWE (25-way) .596 / .300 .504 / .093
SecKnowledge adversarial CTI .667 .637
CTIBench RCM / RCM-2021 / MCQ .697 / .646 / .455 .723 / .705 / .515
CTIBench VSP (1 โˆ’ MAD/7.7) .793 .842
AthenaBench rcm-open .422 .551
CyberMetric-10000 .525 .735
SECURE CWET / KCV / MAET .538 / .394 / .564 .741 / .826 / .763
SecQA v1 / v2 .682 / .700 .973 / .940
SecBench MCQ (zh) / CMMLU computer security .397 / .298 .814 / .672
BFCL-v4 irrelevance .475 .863
JevBench public .524 .783

We targeted the CASTLE and VulDetectBench task 2 formats during development, so those two leads are not zero-shot. The SecAlertBench lead is. On CTIBench rcm-open (an open choice among 1,391 CWE ids), where Jue has no score, Jue-Flash reaches .375 against a majority-class baseline of .229.

4. Limitations

  1. Coverage: it is ahead of Jue on 14 of 131 paired tasks; the median gap is โˆ’.18 on security tasks and โˆ’.33 on tool use.
  2. Truncation: inputs over 4,096 tokens are cut, and long multi-turn agent transcripts score close to zero.
  3. Multiple answers: parallel or multiple tool calls and multi-answer questions almost always fail.
  4. Abstention: it rarely recognises that no tool should be called.
  5. Chinese: clearly weaker than English.
  6. Policy logic: in the examples it gets iptables first-match order, an IAM deny and an RBAC binding wrong, so do not rely on it alone for policy decisions.

5. Bias and risk

A wrong "benign" or "allowed" can hide an attack or an exposure. Set thresholds, and send uncertain cases to Jue, a deterministic checker or an analyst. The model is intended for defence and was not trained to write exploits, payloads, evasion techniques or phishing content.

6. How to use

huggingface-cli download Jue1Dev/jue-flash --local-dir jue-flash
cd jue-flash && pip install -r requirements.txt
python serve.py --checkpoint . --calibration calibration.json --device cuda --port 8001 # or --device mps / cpu
curl -s http://127.0.0.1:8001/v1/systemone -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d @examples/edr_process_tree.json

The base encoder LiquidAI/LFM2.5-Encoder-350M is downloaded the first time the server starts, and it requires trust_remote_code.
